Hampton the Hamster's Ride
After our pringles were mailed in the REAL mail
Some Pringles survived and some did not.
Happy girls with their chip (named Chippie) that survived!
Here we are designing cars for Hammy the Hamster!
Hammy wants us to make a car so he can ride with his pal.
We were given $700 dollars to buy what we need. The materials we were allowed to use
were: Lifesaver mints, Straws, Popsicle Sticks, Masking Tape, Index Cards, and Paper Clips.
As you can see, we were very creative! (written by Jeanne)

We were only given a set amount of money for our design. We had to spend wisely!

You've Got Mail!
During today's session we were challenged to design a package that would safely ship a single Pringle. We discussed packaging and next week our package will actually be shipped in the mail. Hope our chips stay in one piece!

Build a Boat
Our first Fusion session was a huge success! Much was learned about buoyancy as we were challenged to make foil sink and then float. We also had to figure out how to build a boat that would hold pennies. One group's boat held almost 100 pennies!

4th and 5th Grade IMSA Fusion
Welcome to our D101 & D105 4th and 5th grade IMSA FUSION blog! FUSION is an inquiry based, problem centered program. Our experiences emphasize logic, mathematical thinking and experimental scientific reasoning. We learn with our hands and with our fellow group members. We look forward to sharing pictures and descriptions of our first unit, Engineering, via this student-run blog!
